Podcast discussion based on a very simple premise, a “what if”, and an issue which draws on a couple of decades of work on inclusion and widening participation in education. Using approaches from soft systems working in small groups it asks you to speculate on what a socially just education system would look like, what would it mean for it to be normal, what will its character be, and what will it enable.
Having thrown yourself into this new normal, it will then ask you to consider what needs to change, to think through the difference that will make a difference. While the workshop is partly about the use of speculative questions, about how we might untangle ourselves from battling against social and structural relations, about imagining better or indeed worse futures, and how that this might allow us to change the present. Deep breath. At its simplest the title is an excuse to gather people together to have a meaningful conversation about social justice and education.”
